In this section, it is possible to browse the collection of documents. First select the document category or the source type. In the Documents Category, you can scroll down to search by type of letter and type of document, including legal papers, advertisements for Vassa's autobiography. In Source type, you can scroll down to chose among newspapers, archival materials, published sources,, and images/photographs. If you click on any item, it will expand to give a list of documents and materials that are available, and then you are only a click away to seeing the original document, unless it is unavailable, a transcript, and full metadata on the item. In most cases, a PDF copy of the actual document is accessible and can be downloaded at no cost. In cases where there is only a few lines of text on a newspaper page, the relevant portion is highlighted in a red box. The complete page of the document is also included to provide context for the citation.
